Private Jet Flight Attendants’ To-Do List Every Flight

America Young spills the beans on what flight attendants really do when they step onboard a private jet. Turns out, checking the loo is at the top of the list.

As reported by the Daily Mail on Wednesday (10/4/2024), America is a flight attendant instructor. She spilled her secrets on YouTube.

America says checking the bathroom is all about making sure the water’s flowing and there are no funky smells that might bug the folks renting the jet.

Once the bathroom’s squared away, it’s time to give all the safety gear a good once-over.

“Whether it’s your first day on the job or your millionth flight, checking all the safety gear is a must,” says America.

“Check everything… expiry dates, power status, oxygen levels? Take it all out and give it a once-over, including this flashlight,” says America, showing off each piece of safety gear, from meds to life vests to flashlights.

Some gear America swears by checking in extra detail is the AED (automated external defibrillator).

Once the safety gear’s good to go, it’s time to hit the kitchen, the trickiest part. ‘Cause you’re dealing with freezing drinks, filling up ice trays, and shoving food in the fridge.

America says if her jet’s missing a cooler, she’ll make do with the sink to keep drinks chilled. And for coffee, there’s usually a mini coffee maker onboard.

No coffee maker? America suggests prepping a pot of regular and decaf coffee before takeoff.

When it comes to drink containers, ditch the fancy mugs for paper cups with lids—they’re better for handling turbulence.

And here’s a small but mighty important step private jet flight attendants can’t forget: “Pop a water bottle on each seat before the guests arrive. And I always throw in some mints and sweets. It might seem small, but trust me, it makes a big difference during the flight,” she says.

So, once the passengers hop onboard, the first order of business for a private jet flight attendant? Take drink orders from everyone and serve ’em up before takeoff.
