That One Wild Flight: When a Drunk Passenger Peed on Someone (Yeah, Really)

Picture this: You are in your business class seat on a flight from New Delhi to Bangkok, probably daydreaming about your next meeting… and then suddenly, out of the blue, someone just pees on you. I am dead serious.

Believe it or not, it happened on an Air India flight on April 9,2025. The man responsible for all the madness? It’s a 24 year old Indian passenger Tushar Masand who, by the looks of it, had one too many drinks.

No way, did he really just pee on someone?!

Absolutely. And on someone very notable too. Right in front of him sat a Japanese executive and not just any passenger, but the managing director of Bridgestone India. Now that’s a multitude of blunders in one go.

According to reports, Tush was so far gone that he ended up taking a piss right on the back of, and the poor executive’s seat. Crazy right? Even crazier is how the Japanese gentleman remained incredibly composed despite all the demeaning accusations. Total legend level self control.

Crew on Cabin Break down mode

In stark contrast to the composure displayed by the victim, the flight attendants were literally losing their heads. They raced over with a stack of towels and immediately began the process of assisting him in the changing room. Not exactly the expected service on an airliner.

And here’s a wild detail: the Japanese Executive did not press charges or raise a commotion when they reached Thailand; he simply stated that he did not want to squander his time. Quite frankly, that level of elegance merits recognition.

Sort of Consequences

And what happened to the gentleman that caused this entire ruckus? After multiple legroom complaints from a few passengers, Air India decided to move him from business class to economy class – not the harshest of punishments – and issued a verbal warning.

Subsequently, they informed India’s civil aviation authorities and placed a self-imposed 30-day flying ban with Air India. Just a month. That’s all.

Also, that gentleman kept offering the other passengers apologies, but given the circumstances of previously urinating on himself, those waterfalls of remorse may not have made much difference.

Social Media Reaction

It is hardly surprising that as soon as the story broke, the reaction online was, “Again? Seriously.” Apparently, this is not the first time Air India has had to handle some mid-flight shenanigans. It has somehow turned into an unfortunate pattern – and to be clear, not one that is good.

Final Thoughts?

Being overly intoxicated on a flight? Reckless behavior. Splashing someone? Definitely something one should not do. Regardless, props to the Japanese passenger for keeping her cool – many wouldn’t have been so calm. Airlines need to observe such clearly inebriated passengers and stop them from boarding the flight.

Flying should not be stressful because of a drunk passenger. The only reasons should be turbulence and delays. Someone getting too intoxicated to know where the restroom is located is a different story.

Concerns during a flight should include anything besides the worry of someone soaking the seat behind you. After all, that is where the real action happens.
