Exploring Tokyo’s Public Toilets: A Unique Tour Experience

Japan has cooked up something new for tourists – a tour around Tokyo’s public toilets!

As per Reuters on Sunday (4/7), Penelope Panczuk came up with this idea. Inspired by the Oscar-nominated film “Perfect Days,” which tells the tale of toilet cleaners in Shibuya, Tokyo, she decided to jazz up public comfort through art.

So, what’s the deal with this tour? Well, tourists get to wander around Tokyo’s public toilets. And let me tell you, for two hours, they’re blown away by the variety and cool features of these toilets.

Oh, and they’ve got shuttle service for tourists too! Bookings opened up back in March, and lots of folks are signing up, especially with the yen taking a dip.

“We’ve got loads of Japanese culture buffs coming in to check out this unique experience,” she added.

In a quick Reuters video, they show off all kinds of public toilets in Tokyo – from basic to super high-tech.

The cool part? It’s all about the fancy tech, like those command sensors. Tourists just have to say the word, and the door opens or closes, no touching required!

Why did they come up with this tour, you ask? To shake off the stereotype that public toilets are dirty and lacking. So, if you’re in Tokyo, don’t miss out on this quirky adventure!
