Alright, so this is some heavy news out of Malaysia. A 31-year-old dude from China, Zhang Cao, was found dead near Mabul Island—one of those spots famous for diving and chill vibes in Sabah. Cops are now trying to track down his family or anyone who knew him.
What Went Down?
So, Zhang was last seen hanging out around Mabul Island before he went MIA. People started freaking out and filed a missing person report. That’s when the Semporna Marine Police and some divers from a nearby resort jumped into action, combing the area.
Then, on Friday, they got the call: “Yo, there’s a guy missing.” By 11:33 AM, they were out there, searching. A few hours later, they found him 17 meters underwater. Sad to say, it was too late.
How They Found Him
When the team found Zhang, he was fully dressed—bright shirt, shorts, shoes, and even a gray backpack. Inside the bag? His phone and some photos.
Inspector Mohd Sabri Zainol, the local police chief, said they’re treating this as a sudden death case for now. No sketchy foul play stuff, but they’re still digging into what actually happened.
Calling All Relatives
Here’s the thing—nobody’s claimed Zhang’s body yet. The cops are asking anyone who might know him or his family to step up and get in touch ASAP. Sabri said, “If no one shows up, we’ll go ahead with an autopsy within 48 hours.”
Still a Mystery
The big question? How did it all go down? Was it an accident? Did something go wrong while he was diving? Right now, no one knows for sure. All we know is that Zhang’s story came to a heartbreaking end in one of the most stunning spots in Sabah.
