So here’s that sad travel story that noone wants to hear. She encontered a storm while riding in a bad camper van and sadly lost her life to it during her journey.
Her Adventure
The date was March 8 and she was located in Burringbar, New South Wales when storm Alfred came and hit with great force.
Things became chaotic almost instantly, with wind speeds reaching 85 km/h, houses flooding, and ~290000 households losing power. Complete power cities basically had those do not go outside signs up.
Things Changed Forever
A first look into the investigation suggests she most likely left her campervan during the storm, attemptimg to find shelter. It appears the strong winds did not help her case as the wind flipped her vehicle resulting in serious injuries.
She was confirmed dead by a post mortem done in Australia due to the multiple injuries she suffered. No one tried to harm her, it was just a horrible accident and nature’s rage.
A Father’s Heartbreak
During the time of the search, her father informed the officials in Wales that she was located in a far off region. Perhaps she had been trying to adhere to some of the storm safety instructions, as authorities had cautioned people to avoid leaving their houses.
It very much seems that things escalated too quickly for her to find adequate shelter in time. It is impossible not to imagine the pure terror that must have come from these moments.
Not the Ending Anyone Expected
The conclusion of Eleanor’s road trip turned out to be the most tragic. Her adventure was living the dream for many out there in the world, freely traveling and exploring Australia.
How unpredictable life can be, was nature’s sudden reminder for everyone.
Investigation Still Ongoing
As per Gittins, Senior Coroner North, East and Central Wales, the full investigation is still pending. So much is still left to be discovered और for the family, detailed answers will take a while.
A Sad Reminder for Travelers
