Tourist Loses Louis Vuitton Bag with 3 Passports
As shared by the tourist on an online platform Xiaohongshu, the incident took place on Monday, October 5. As per Lao’s version, he had placed his Louis Vuitton bag down behind his seat while communicating with his friends regarding their travel plans. Soon, he heard someone running behind him and turned back to find out that his bag was not there on the seat.
The bag contained the passports of the individual, a Dior wallet, SGD 200 in cash, 800 yuan, and some accessories for the camera. He also had wireless earphones. He tried to trace them through his phone but was unable to fix the connection.
Thinking of the chance that the culprit was still in the surrounding area, Lao ran towards the exit.
A tourist retrieves his bag after pursuing the thief
Lao ran into a guy at the exit and greeted him as though to ask him for directions. However, the man took off and Lao followed him.
During the chase, Lao managed to get a paper bag that the guy was carrying. Inside it, he found his lost Louis Vuitton bag. However, several items were missing, including passports, a compact camera, and equipment for live-streaming. Even a pair of socks was gone.
According to a witness, he saw someone carrying a compact camera and other items stuffed into a sock.
Lao believed that the person wearing a black head covering disappeared in the bushes nearby. One of the missing passports was found under a tree, making Lao think that it had been dumped by the thief. He wanted to find the remaining two passports right away.
Suspected Involvement of Several Individuals
According to Lao, the robbery could have involved more than one individual. The confrontation he had makes him think that the person he jumped on was not actually the thief but the one who had to collect stolen goods.
He mentioned watching CCTV recordings from the Gardens by the Bay. He claims that this individual kept away from the cameras while getting across the park.
Although, these statements are not confirmed, the circumstances of the case are still under investigation
